Clarity Shot #49

A new email comes in.
A new task to add to your already busy day.
A new project dropped on you without advance warning.
A new deadline, while something else becomes urgent in the meantime.
Another email, another phone call, another immediate request.

Frustration rises, like water within the sinking Titanic: certain & fast, about to go beyond the turning point.

What if, instead of grumpy-ing up about how unfair it is, how tired we already are, how much we’re already doing (while nobody seems to appreciate)… what if, instead, we flip the script? 🙃

How about: instead of working within the confined limitations of our assumptions about what the new nuisance / to-do means (which basically adds up to: it’s impossible & terrible)… we work with those assumptions and turn them upside down?

💡 What if that email is an opportunity to practice boundary-setting?

💡 What if that new request is a chance to exercise patience, curiosity or skilled response?

💡 What if that new project just dropped on you without warning, is an invitation to show up in a more strategic way, instead of merely adding it up to your list?

What changes, inside, when you work from a different assumption?

What changes in your approach and experience, if you challenge yourself to intentionally look, through the day, beyond frustrations, tasks, and urgencies… for opportunities to practice your skills, develop inner strength, show grace, contribute to others’ well-being, or
increase joy, satisfaction, and confidence?

What’s your opportunity for practice, today?
