Clarity Shot #41

This weekend, I just stopped. From everything.

I stopped making plans, to-do lists, running errands or doing anything non-essential.

I put all my wishful thinking about books to read, posts to draft, wardrobe reshuffling… on hold.

I came to a full stop.

After weeks of putting all my energy into building something new and exciting, I suddenly woke up one fine Saturday morning without any energy left.

Tired.
Stretched.
Feeling like everything is a struggle and I’ve just lost the desire to go for it.

In another life, I would have powered through.

I would have stretched myself thin, convincing myself that it’s about just one more… email, appointment, deck, checklist, phone call… just one more!

I would have squeezed every drop of energy out of me, to push myself forward.

I would have achieved amazing things, only to fall apart, exhausted, right after that.

No more.

In this life, I know when to stop.

I’ve learned patience.
I’ve learned to care for myself, while chasing my big dreams.

I’ve learned that stopping to recharge & renew… is the wisest thing I can do, when I’m out of energy and drive.

In this life, you see, I am playing the longer game.

I know that, when motivation slides, or when energy drops… it’s a sign to rest, not to doubt myself, or push through.

Hard-earned lesson. Priceless.

So this Clarity Shot asks you: what permission you need to give yourself, to slow down when you’re running on empty, so you can stop, rest and renew?

There’s time to stop, and there’s time to push through… and there’s wisdom in knowing the difference.

What if doing nothing, for a while, could refill your motivation for chasing your dreams?

Don’t worry, that big goal isn’t going anywhere.

You’re not missing on anything, while you’re allowing yourself to stop and take care of the most precious asset you have, in chasing that big goal: yourself.

Enjoy the pause, the silence, the non-doing.

Bask yourself in the luxury of giving yourself time, attention and space to recharge & reconnect with what really matters - even if you can only stop for a few minutes each day.
